A Posteriori Error Estimates for the Wavelet Galerkin Method

In this paper we construct an error indicator for the wavelet Galerkin method for a linear elliptic BVP. Such an indicator is based on the $H^{-1}$ norm of the residual, which is computed using the equivalent norm expressed in terms of wavelet coefficients.
